About
The Arlington Village Courtyards Condominiums (AVCC) are a community of around 60 units located within the larger Arlington Village Historic District, a residential neighborhood in South Arlington originally constructed in 1939 by Gustave Ring as a planned garden apartment community. The district was home to 657 contributing buildings, including 656 apartment units, recreational areas, open spaces, a swimming pool, courtyards, and a shopping center with six stores, and was the first large-scale rental project in Arlington County and the first Federal Housing Administration-insured garden apartment development.
Over time, Arlington Village was converted into condominiums, and Arlington Village Courtyards split off and became a cooperative before eventually converting to condominiums in the 1990s. In recognition of its historic significance, Arlington Village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
Our association takes pride in maintaining our own unique community within the larger Arlington Village historic district. AVCC strives to preserve the history and character of our condominiums while fostering a sense of community among our residents.
